To get to Diglipur Island, our driver will pick you up from your hotel at 3:30 in the morning. The journey usually takes about 10 to 12 hours. Along the way, we’ll stop at Baratang Island. This island is in the middle of the Andamans and is known for its limestone caves and mud volcanoes.
You’ll need to buy a ticket for the boat ride to Baratang Island yourself. Our driver will help you with this.
After resting up, we’ll continue our journey to Aerial Bay. From there, you’ll hop on a boat to visit Ross and Smith Island. What’s really cool about this spot is that it’s totally unique – there’s nowhere else quite like it in the Andaman Islands. Ross and Smith Island are actually two separate islands that are connected by a sandy stretch called a sandbar.
When you get on the boat, they’ll give you a quick rundown of the trip and make sure you have life jackets. The boat ride takes about 20 minutes to get to Ross and Smith Island.
Once you arrive, you can chill out, swim, and do some snorkeling if you want. Just so you know, there’s no guided snorkeling here like you might find in Havelock or Port Blair.
You’ll need to buy a ticket for the boat ride to Ross and Smith Island yourself. But don’t worry, our driver will help you out with that.
We’ll hit the road again, heading back to Port Blair from Diglipur. Along the way, we’ll make a couple of stops you might enjoy. First, we’ll check out Aerial Bay Beach, and then we’ll visit Dhaninala Mangroves.
The Dhanni Nalah Mangrove Walkway is a 720-meter path that was made by clearing out some creeks and mangrove trees. It’s a really nice walk compared to what you might have experienced at Baratang Island.
Just a heads up, you’ll need to buy a ticket to enter Dhannialah. Once we’re done there, we’ll head over to Ambkunj Beach. You can hang out there for about 30 minutes to an hour before we head back.
