What is a Havelock Island Tour Package?
A Havelock Island tour package is a complete holiday plan that includes your hotel stay in Havelock, return ferry tickets from Port Blair, airport transfers, jetty transfers, private sightseeing and local assistance. Most packages also let you add scuba diving, snorkelling and other water activities. In simple terms, you book one package and everything on the ground is arranged for you. Here is why that matters on this particular island. Havelock is not connected to Port Blair by road. The only way to reach it is by ferry, and the good ferries sell out weeks ahead in season. Taxis on the island are limited. Hotels near Radhanagar Beach fill up first. Elephant Beach boats stop running by early afternoon. If you book everything separately, you spend your holiday chasing ferry seats and taxi drivers. A package removes all of that. Your ferry is booked before you land. Someone meets you at Havelock Jetty. Your car is waiting for sightseeing. Your hotel already has your booking. A Havelock Island package usually covers:- Accommodation in a hotel or beach resort in Swaraj Dweep
- Return ferry tickets on a private catamaran
- Pickup from Veer Savarkar International Airport
- Transfers between hotel and jetty
- Private vehicle for Havelock sightseeing
- Breakfast
- Local coordinator available on phone
Who Is This Havelock Island Package For?
This package works well for: ✔ Honeymoon couples ✔ Families with children ✔ Families with senior citizens ✔ Groups of friends ✔ Solo travellers ✔ Corporate and incentive groups ✔ First-time visitors to the Andaman Islands ✔ Scuba diving and water sports enthusiasts Honeymoon couples usually spend two or three nights in Havelock and add a candlelight dinner by the beach. Explore our Andaman honeymoon packages for the full list of romantic inclusions, flower and balloon room decoration, and a private sunset visit to Radhanagar Beach. Many couples also add Neil Island for one night because it is quieter. Families with kids prefer a slower plan — see our Andaman family tour packages for child-friendly itineraries. Children enjoy Elephant Beach for the glass bottom boat and shallow snorkelling, and Kalapathar Beach because the water is calm and there is shade. We keep travel time short and avoid two ferry journeys on the same day. Families with elderly parents need a package that avoids long walks and rough sea timings. We book morning ferries, which are calmer, and choose hotels close to the main road so the car can come right up to the reception. Friends and groups usually want the activity side — scuba diving, sea walk, parasailing, jet ski, kayaking. Our Andaman adventure tour packages are built around this. We book the water sports slots in advance so nobody is left waiting at the counter. Solo travellers often come for diving and stay four or five nights. Havelock is safe, walkable in parts, and easy to get around by scooter. Corporate groups need fixed ferry timings and hotels that can take 20 to 60 people together. We handle group ferry bookings and coordination. First-time visitors almost always ask the same question — is Havelock worth it? Yes. If you only have time for one island in the Andamans, this is the one.Why Choose This Havelock Island Package?
You don’t have to book the ferry yourself. Port Blair to Havelock ferry seats sell out two to three weeks in advance during December and January. We hold your seats early on Makruzz, Nautika, Green Ocean or ITT Majestic, and we pick the sailing that matches your flight arrival time. If your flight is delayed, we re-book instead of leaving you at the jetty. Your hotel is chosen for your travel style, not our margin. A honeymoon couple, a family with a five-year-old and a group of six friends need three different hotels in Havelock. We know which properties have real beach access, which ones have long walks from the reception, which ones have reliable power backup, and which ones are quiet at night. Your sightseeing is planned around ferry and beach timings. Elephant Beach boats stop taking passengers by early afternoon and the beach is cleared in the late afternoon. Radhanagar is best at sunset. If your itinerary ignores this, you waste a whole day. Ours doesn’t. You get one team from arrival to departure. The same team books your ferry, meets you at the airport, meets you at Havelock Jetty, and answers your phone at 9 pm when you want to change dinner plans. There is no call centre in another city. Pricing is shown before you pay. You get a written itinerary with hotel names, ferry class, inclusions, exclusions and the final amount. No “extra ferry charges” on arrival. You can change your mind. Want to add a night in Neil Island? Want to swap a beach day for a diving day? Want a better room? Tell us before you travel and we will adjust the plan and the price. We are actually here. Our office is in Port Blair. Not Delhi, not Kolkata, not an online marketplace that forwards your booking to a third party.Places You’ll Visit in a Havelock Island Tour Package
Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7)
Radhanagar Beach is the reason most people book a Havelock Island package. It was named the best beach in Asia by TIME magazine, and it holds a Blue Flag certification for cleanliness and safety. But the reason travellers remember it is different. It’s a wide, curving stretch of white sand with a forest line behind it and shallow turquoise water in front. Most people plan to spend thirty minutes here and end up staying three hours. Go in the late afternoon. The sun drops behind the tree line and the whole beach turns gold. Changing rooms, lockers and showers are available for a small fee, so you can swim and clean up before heading back. Radhanagar is about 10 km from Havelock Jetty. Your package includes the vehicle. Nearby: Neil’s Cove, a small natural lagoon at the northern end of the beach, is worth the short walk.Elephant Beach
Elephant Beach is the water sports beach. You reach it by a 15-minute boat ride from Havelock Jetty, or by a 45-minute jungle trek if you prefer walking. This is where snorkelling, sea walk, jet ski, banana boat, sofa boat and parasailing happen. The reef starts close to shore, so even beginners see coral and fish within a few minutes. Most travellers take the boat. If you are travelling with elderly parents or small children, take the boat — the trek can get muddy. Two practical points. First, the beach closes to visitors in the late afternoon, so this is a morning activity. Second, despite what many websites claim, serious scuba diving does not happen at Elephant Beach — the water is too shallow and there is too much boat traffic. Real beginner dives happen at Nemo Reef near Govind Nagar. We book you at the right place.Kalapathar Beach
Kalapathar is the quiet one. A long stretch of white sand with black rocks scattered along the shoreline and a road running right beside it. It’s the best beach on Havelock for families with young children. The water is calm, there is shade, and you can park close by. It’s also the best sunrise spot on the island. Kalapathar is about 12 km from the jetty, on the opposite side from Radhanagar. Both fit comfortably into one sightseeing day.Govind Nagar Beach (Beach No. 5) and Nemo Reef
Govind Nagar is a short walk from the main market area, which makes it the easiest beach to reach on foot. It’s a good evening walk if you don’t want to travel to Radhanagar. Nemo Reef, just off this side of the island, is where beginner scuba diving actually happens. It’s a sheltered bay where instructors walk you in from the shore, waist-deep first, with no jumping off a boat. If you are nervous about diving or cannot swim, this is the setup that makes it work.Havelock Lighthouse and the Dive Sites
Havelock has some of the best dive sites in India — Nemo Reef, Lighthouse, Aquarium, The Wall and Johnny’s Gorge among them. Lighthouse is also the island’s main night dive site. Certified divers usually book two-tank boat dives. Beginners do a Discover Scuba session. We book with established, licensed dive centres only.Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) — Optional Extension
Neil Island is 1 to 1.5 hours from Havelock by ferry. It’s smaller, slower and less crowded. If you want it as a standalone trip, see our Neil Island tour packages. Most travellers add one night here after Havelock. You visit Bharatpur Beach, Laxmanpur Beach and the Natural Bridge, all of which are close together. It’s the kind of island where you finish sightseeing by lunch and spend the rest of the day doing nothing. Add Neil if you have six nights or more. With four nights, stay in Havelock instead.Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram) — Your Gateway
Every Havelock trip passes through Port Blair — you can also book it separately through our Port Blair tour packages. Your flight lands at Veer Savarkar International Airport, and the ferry leaves from Haddo Jetty or Phoenix Bay Jetty. If your flight arrives in the afternoon, you will spend the first night in Port Blair. Use that evening for the Cellular Jail Light and Sound Show — it’s the most meaningful thing you’ll do on this trip, and it takes about two hours. If you have a spare day, Ross Island and North Bay Island are a half-day boat trip from Port Blair. Local Expert Tip Plan Radhanagar for the evening and Elephant Beach for the morning. If you do it the other way round, you’ll miss the sunset and reach Elephant Beach after the boats have stopped.Havelock Island Package Categories

A Havelock honeymoon package — see also our wider Andaman honeymoon packages — usually means two or three nights in a beachfront resort, a private candlelight dinner on the sand, flower and balloon room decoration on arrival, and a sunset visit to Radhanagar Beach without a group tagging along. Most couples add one night in Neil Island because it is quieter. Starts from ₹19,990 per person. Luxury honeymoon options start from ₹39,990.Havelock Family Package
A Havelock family package is built around shorter travel days. For multi-island options, explore our Andaman family tour packages. We avoid two ferries on the same day, choose hotels where the car can reach reception directly, and plan beach time at Kalapathar where the water is calm and there is shade. Glass bottom boat rides work for children who are too young for snorkelling. Starts from ₹16,990 per person. Children under five usually travel free on ferries and sightseeing.Havelock Scuba Diving Package
A Havelock scuba diving package pairs your stay with pre-booked dive slots at licensed centres. Beginners get a Discover Scuba session at Nemo Reef with a shore entry. Certified divers get two-tank boat dives at Johnny’s Gorge, The Wall or Aquarium. We build in the 18 to 24 hour gap before your flight so you never have to cancel a dive. Starts from ₹18,990 per person including two nights in Havelock, excluding dive charges.Havelock Beach Package
A Havelock beach package skips the packed sightseeing schedule. You get two or three nights, a beachfront or near-beach stay, and unstructured time at Radhanagar, Kalapathar, Govind Nagar and Vijaynagar. Sightseeing is limited to one half-day so the rest of your trip is yours. Starts from ₹14,990 per person.Port Blair to Havelock Package
If you are already in Port Blair or arriving on a late flight, a Port Blair to Havelock package covers just the island leg — return ferry tickets, jetty transfers, hotel in Havelock and sightseeing. It suits travellers who have booked Port Blair separately or who are extending an existing Andaman trip. Starts from ₹9,990 per person for two nights. How Much Does a Havelock Island Tour Package Cost?
A Havelock Island tour package costs between ₹12,990 and ₹45,000 per person, depending on how many nights you stay, which hotel you choose and which season you travel in. Most travellers spend between ₹17,000 and ₹27,000 per person for a comfortable 3 to 5 night trip including hotels, ferry tickets, transfers and sightseeing. Airfare to Port Blair is separate. For a full mainland-to-island budget breakdown, read our Andaman trip cost guide. Here is what actually moves the price. Hotel category. This is the single biggest factor. A budget room in Govind Nagar and a beachfront villa near Radhanagar can differ by ₹15,000 per person for the same number of nights. Number of nights. Each extra night in Havelock adds roughly ₹2,500 to ₹6,000 per person depending on the hotel. Travel season. December 20 to January 5 is the most expensive window of the year. Hotels raise rates, ferries add a peak surcharge, and availability disappears. October to March is high season. April to May is cheaper. June to September is the lowest. Ferry class. Economy class starts around ₹1,100 per person per side. Premium and luxury classes run ₹1,250 to ₹1,600. Royal and business class can go up to ₹3,400. Multiply by two for the return. Activities. Scuba diving is the big one. A Discover Scuba session for beginners costs roughly ₹4,500 to ₹6,500 per person. A certified fun dive costs about ₹3,500 to ₹5,500. Sea walk, parasailing and snorkelling are cheaper. Number of travellers. Per-person cost drops in a group because vehicles and boats are shared. A family of four pays less per head than a couple. Meal plan. Breakfast-only is standard. Adding dinner costs about ₹800 to ₹1,500 per person per day.Indicative Havelock Island Package Price Table

What’s Included in the Havelock Island Package
Hotel accommodation in Havelock. Your room is confirmed before you land. You choose the category and we tell you honestly what each property is like — how far the beach really is, whether the AC is reliable, whether the restaurant is any good. On an island where hotels are limited and last-minute rooms are expensive, having this locked in matters more than it does on the mainland. Return ferry tickets. Port Blair to Havelock and back. We book you on a private catamaran unless you specifically want the government ferry. You get your tickets before travel, not at the counter. During peak season this is the single most valuable inclusion in the package. Airport pickup and drop. Our representative meets you at Veer Savarkar International Airport with a name board and takes you either to your Port Blair hotel or directly to the jetty, depending on your itinerary. Jetty transfers. Someone meets you at Havelock Jetty when your ferry arrives and takes you to your hotel. Same on the return. Havelock Jetty gets busy and taxis are limited — this is not a small thing. Private sightseeing in Havelock. A private vehicle for your Radhanagar, Kalapathar and Elephant Beach jetty transfers. Not a shared bus running on someone else’s schedule. Daily breakfast. Included at all hotels. Permits and entry tickets. All island entry fees and permits are arranged. Local assistance for the whole trip. One phone number that works. If a ferry is delayed, if you want to change a dinner reservation, if the hotel room isn’t right, you call us and we fix it from Port Blair. A fully customized itinerary. We don’t sell you a fixed brochure package. We build the plan around your flight timings, your budget and what you actually want to do.What’s Not Included
Being clear about this saves everyone trouble later.- Airfare to and from Port Blair

- Anything not listed in your confirmed written itinerary

Sample Havelock Island Tour Package Itinerary — 5 Nights / 6 Days
This is our most popular Havelock itinerary. It covers Port Blair, Havelock and Neil Island without rushing.Day 1 — Arrival in Port Blair, Cellular Jail
Morning: Your flight lands at Veer Savarkar International Airport. Our representative meets you at the exit and takes you to your Port Blair hotel. Check in, freshen up, and have lunch. Afternoon: Visit Corbyn’s Cove Beach, about 15 minutes from the city. It’s a quiet coconut-lined beach, good for a slow first afternoon while you adjust. Evening: Cellular Jail Light and Sound Show. This is not just another sightseeing stop. The show tells the stories of the freedom fighters who were held here, and most travellers say it’s the most moving part of the trip. It runs for about an hour. Night: Dinner and overnight in Port Blair. Tip: If your flight arrives after 2 pm, you’ll miss the ferry to Havelock the same day. That’s why we plan the first night in Port Blair.Day 2 — Ferry to Havelock, Radhanagar Beach
Morning: Early breakfast and transfer to Haddo Jetty. Your ferry to Havelock departs between 6:00 am and 8:00 am depending on the operator. The crossing takes 90 minutes on a fast catamaran. Morning seas are calmer than afternoon. About 80 minutes in, the deep blue of the open sea gives way to shallow turquoise water. That’s when most people realise they’ve arrived somewhere different. Late morning: Arrive at Havelock Jetty. Our representative meets you and takes you to your hotel. Check in and rest. Afternoon and evening: Drive to Radhanagar Beach, about 30 minutes away. Swim, walk the length of the beach, and stay for the sunset. Changing rooms and lockers are available. Night: Dinner and overnight in Havelock.Day 3 — Elephant Beach and Kalapathar Beach
Morning: After breakfast, transfer to Havelock Jetty for the boat to Elephant Beach — a 15-minute ride. This is your water sports morning: snorkelling, sea walk, glass bottom boat, jet ski, banana boat or parasailing. The reef here starts close to shore. If you prefer walking, the jungle trek takes about 45 minutes each way. Afternoon: Return to the hotel for lunch and a rest. Late afternoon: Drive to Kalapathar Beach on the other side of the island. Black rocks, white sand, and far fewer people. A good spot to sit and do nothing. Night: Overnight in Havelock. Optional: Add a Discover Scuba session at Nemo Reef this morning instead of Elephant Beach.Day 4 — Havelock to Neil Island
Morning: Breakfast, check out, and transfer to Havelock Jetty. The ferry to Neil Island takes about an hour. Afternoon: Arrive at Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep). Check in and have lunch. Visit Bharatpur Beach — calm, shallow water, good for a glass bottom boat ride. Evening: Laxmanpur Beach for sunset. It’s a long, flat beach with shallow water and one of the best sunset views in the islands. Night: Overnight in Neil Island.Day 5 — Natural Bridge, Return to Port Blair
Early morning: Visit the Natural Bridge (Howrah Bridge) at low tide. It’s a coral rock formation you can only reach when the tide is out, so the timing depends on the tide chart. We’ll tell you the right time the night before. Late morning: Ferry from Neil Island to Port Blair — about 1.5 to 2 hours. Afternoon: Check in to your Port Blair hotel. Free time for shopping at Sagarika Emporium or Aberdeen Bazaar. Night: Overnight in Port Blair.Day 6 — Departure
Morning: Breakfast and check out. Transfer to Veer Savarkar International Airport for your flight. If your flight is in the afternoon, we can fit in a quick visit to the Samudrika Naval Marine Museum or the Anthropological Museum.Shorter Option — 3 Nights / 4 Days Havelock Package
Day 1: Arrive Port Blair, Corbyn’s Cove, Cellular Jail Light and Sound Show, overnight Port Blair Day 2: Morning ferry to Havelock, check in, Radhanagar Beach sunset, overnight Havelock Day 3: Elephant Beach water sports in the morning, Kalapathar Beach in the evening, overnight Havelock Day 4: Morning ferry to Port Blair, transfer to airport This is the shortest trip that still gives you two full nights in Havelock. Local Expert Tip Never schedule scuba diving or a sea walk on your departure day. You must leave at least 18 to 24 hours between a dive and a flight. Divers who ignore this end up either skipping the dive or changing their flight. Want this itinerary adjusted for your dates? Send us your flight timings and we’ll rebuild the day plan around them — free of cost, before you book anything.Best Time to Visit Havelock Island
The best time to visit Havelock Island is between October and May. The sea is calm, ferries run on schedule, and all water sports operate. December and January are the most pleasant months but also the most expensive and crowded. Here’s the season-by-season picture.October to February — Peak Season
Comfortable weather, calm seas, clear water and full ferry schedules. Our best time to visit Andaman guide covers all the islands month by month. Visibility for scuba diving is at its best between December and April. The catch is price and availability. Hotels near Radhanagar fill up first. Ferry premium classes sell out three to four weeks ahead during the Christmas and New Year week. Makruzz adds a peak surcharge between mid-December and mid-January. If you’re travelling in this window, book 45 to 60 days in advance.March to May — Shoulder Season
Hot and humid, especially in April and May, but the sea is still calm and diving visibility is excellent. Hotel rates drop noticeably after mid-March. This is the best value window of the year. You get peak-season sea conditions at off-season prices. Carry sunscreen and plan beach visits for early morning and late afternoon.June to September — Monsoon
Heavy rain, rough seas and frequent ferry cancellations. Water sports are often suspended. Hotel rates are at their lowest. Travel is possible but you need flexibility. If you come during monsoon, book morning ferries — they’re less likely to be cancelled than afternoon sailings — and keep a buffer day before your return flight. We’re honest with travellers about this: if your dates are fixed and you cannot afford disruption, avoid July and August.Quick Season Comparison

How to Reach Havelock Island
Havelock Island can only be reached by ferry from Port Blair. There is no airport on the island. The crossing is 38 nautical miles and takes 90 minutes on a fast private catamaran, or up to 2.5 hours on the government ferry.Step 1 — Fly to Port Blair
All travellers first fly to Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair. Direct flights operate from Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam, though many routes connect through Chennai or Kolkata. Explore our city-wise departure packages with flight guidance, fares and duration for your city: Andaman tour packages from Chennai · from Bangalore · from Mumbai · from Delhi · from Kolkata · from Hyderabad · from Pune · from Kochi · from Visakhapatnam Morning flights are better. If you land before noon, you can catch a same-day ferry to Havelock. Afternoon arrivals mean an overnight stay in Port Blair.Step 2 — Ferry from Port Blair to Havelock

Which Ferry Should You Take?
Take a morning sailing. The sea is calmer before 11 am, and you get more of your arrival day on the island. Makruzz and Nautika are the fastest and most comfortable. Green Ocean is the budget option with open deck access. The government ferry is the cheapest but slower, harder to book, and often uncomfortable in rough weather. Your package includes these tickets, so you don’t need to book anything yourself. Tell us your preference and we’ll match it.Step 3 — Arriving at Havelock

Things to Do in Havelock Island
Scuba Diving
Havelock is the best place in India to dive, and it’s also one of the best places in the country to dive for the very first time. Beginners do a Discover Scuba session at Nemo Reef, near Govind Nagar Beach. It’s a sheltered bay where the instructor walks you in from the shore in waist-deep water. There’s no jumping off a boat and no need to know swimming. Most nervous first-timers come up grinning. Certified divers book two-tank boat dives at sites like The Wall, Aquarium, Johnny’s Gorge and Lighthouse. Visibility is best from December to April. Approximate cost: ₹4,500 to ₹6,500 for a Discover Scuba session, ₹3,500 to ₹5,500 for a certified fun dive.Snorkelling at Elephant Beach
Snorkelling is the easiest way to see coral without any training. The reef at Elephant Beach starts close to shore in shallow water, so you’re seeing fish within minutes. Good for children over eight and for anyone who doesn’t want to commit to a dive.Sea Walk
On a sea walk you wear a weighted helmet that keeps your head dry and walk on the sea floor at about 20 feet. You don’t need to swim and you don’t get your face wet. It’s one of the most popular activities for travellers who don’t want to dive. Note: operators will not take you if you have high blood pressure, heart conditions or recent surgery. That screening exists for good reason. Keep 24 hours between a sea walk and your flight.Glass Bottom Boat Ride
If you’re travelling with children or elderly parents, or you simply don’t want to get in the water, this is the best way to see the coral reefs. You stay dry and comfortable while the boat moves over the reef.Parasailing, Jet Ski and Banana Boat
All available at Elephant Beach. Quick, fun and no experience needed. Popular with groups of friends.Kayaking and Mangrove Paddling
A guided kayak through the mangrove creeks is a completely different side of Havelock — quiet, green and shaded. On selected dates with clear dark skies, night kayaking through bioluminescent water is available. It’s a limited-availability activity, so ask us early.Trekking to Elephant Beach
A 45-minute walk through forest from the northern end of the island. Do it if you’re reasonably fit and want to reach the beach before the boats arrive. Skip it with kids or elders, or after rain.Beach Time
The most underrated activity on the island. Radhanagar for sunsets. Kalapathar for sunrise and quiet. Govind Nagar for an easy evening walk. Vijaynagar Beach for reading a book. Local Expert Tip Book scuba diving and sea walk slots in advance, especially between December and February. Walk-in slots sell out by mid-morning and you may lose an entire planned day.Where to Stay in Havelock Island
Havelock has about 60 to 70 properties, ranging from simple guesthouses to a five-star beachfront resort. Choosing the right one matters more here than in most destinations because the island is spread out and taxis are limited. Beachfront resorts near Vijaynagar Beach and Govind Nagar Beach — you can walk out of your room onto sand. Best for honeymoon couples. Higher price. Mid-range resorts set slightly back from the beach with gardens and cottages. Best value for families. A short drive or walk to the water. Budget hotels and guesthouses in the Govind Nagar market area. Close to restaurants, cafés and the jetty. Best for solo travellers, backpackers and anyone spending most of their day out. Luxury properties with private villas, spa and full board. Best for special occasions. Things we check before recommending a hotel: real distance from the beach (not what the website claims), power backup reliability, water supply, restaurant quality, and whether a vehicle can reach reception directly. Tell us your budget and we’ll name specific properties rather than sending you a generic “3-star hotel” line in an itinerary. Why Book Your Havelock Package With AndamanTravelCare
We’re based in Port Blair. Our team lives here. When your ferry is delayed or your hotel has a problem, we’re 90 minutes away, not 2,000 km away. We’ve been doing this since 2014. Andaman TravelCare was founded in 2014 and we’ve planned thousands of island itineraries since. We know which hotels changed management, which dive centres are properly licensed, and which ferry operator is running late this month. We’re government licensed and an AATO member. The Andaman Association of Tour Operators is the recognised body for licensed operators in the islands. Membership means we’re accountable. Travellers rate us. 400+ reviews on Google and 200+ on TripAdvisor, plus TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice recognition in both 2025 and 2026. Our pricing is transparent. You get a written itinerary with hotel names, ferry class, inclusions and exclusions before you pay a rupee. No surprise charges when you land. We handle ferry booking properly. This is where most trips go wrong. We book early, we book the right sailing for your flight, and we re-book if plans change. We answer on WhatsApp. Not a ticket system. A person. Every package is customized. We don’t have fixed departure dates or fixed groups. Your itinerary is built for your dates. Our Track Record

Booking only one night in Havelock. The most common regret we hear. Between ferry timings and check-out, one night gives you roughly half a day on the island. Booking flights before checking ferry timings. An afternoon arrival in Port Blair means you cannot reach Havelock the same day. Plan the flight around the ferry, not the other way round. Booking the ferry too late. Premium classes on Makruzz and Nautika sell out three to four weeks ahead in peak season. Waiting means either the government ferry or a lost day. Choosing purely on price. The cheapest package usually means a hotel far from everything, the slowest ferry, and shared sightseeing. Sometimes that’s fine. Often it isn’t. Planning scuba diving on departure day. You need 18 to 24 hours between diving and flying. Not carrying cash. ATMs on Havelock run dry during peak season. Many restaurants, taxis and small shops are cash-only. Withdraw enough in Port Blair before you board the ferry. Overloading the itinerary. Trying to fit Havelock, Neil, Baratang and Ross Island into four nights means you spend the trip on ferries. Fewer islands, more time.Travel Tips for Your Havelock Trip
- Carry a valid photo ID — Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or driving licence. PAN card is not accepted at the jetty.
- Withdraw cash in Port Blair before boarding the ferry. Havelock ATMs are unreliable in season.
- Book morning ferries. Calmer sea, and more of your day on the island.
- Reach the jetty 60 minutes early — 90 minutes during December and January.
- Keep 18 to 24 hours between diving and flying.
- Mobile network is limited. BSNL and Airtel work best. Data is slow across the island.
- Carry reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and a light cotton shirt. The sun here is stronger than it feels.
- Carry motion sickness tablets if you’re prone to seasickness, especially for afternoon crossings.
- Alcohol cannot be carried on board the ferry.
- Pack light for Havelock. If you’re returning to Port Blair, some hotels will store your extra luggage.
Mobile Network and Internet in Havelock Island
Mobile coverage in Havelock Island is limited compared to the mainland. BSNL and Airtel work in most tourist areas. Jio coverage has improved but remains patchy outside Govind Nagar. Data speeds across the island are slow, and internet drops out entirely at Radhanagar and Kalapathar Beach. Here’s what to expect network by network. Airtel — the most reliable private network on the island. Works in the market area, at most hotels, and along the main road. Voice calls are usually fine. Data is slow but usable for WhatsApp. BSNL — the widest coverage, including some areas where private networks fail. Slower data, but if you want signal in more places, carry a BSNL number. Jio — works in Govind Nagar and near the jetty. Coverage thins out towards Radhanagar and Kalapathar. Vi (Vodafone Idea) — very limited. Don’t rely on it. Hotel Wi-Fi — most hotels advertise it. In practice it runs on the same slow backhaul, so video calls rarely work. Resorts in the higher categories usually manage better. Roaming for international travellers — you’ll need an Indian SIM. Buy it in Port Blair, not Havelock, and activate it before you board the ferry. Practical advice: tell family back home that you may be unreachable for a few hours at a time. Download your offline maps, tickets and boarding passes in Port Blair. Our team stays reachable on WhatsApp and by call, and we know which spots on the island have signal if you need us urgently.ATMs, Cash and Card Payments in Havelock
Carry enough cash. Havelock has only a handful of ATMs and they frequently run out of money during peak season. Many restaurants, taxis, water sports counters and small shops accept cash only. There are ATMs near Govind Nagar market and close to the jetty, operated mainly by SBI and a couple of private banks. During December and January they are often empty by afternoon, and the queue at the working one can be long. What accepts cards: mid-range and luxury resorts, a few of the larger restaurants, and established dive centres. What usually doesn’t: auto and taxi drivers, beach shacks, small cafés, souvenir stalls, scooter rental shops and most water sports counters at Elephant Beach. UPI works where there is network, which means it works in the market area and fails on the beaches. How much to carry: budget roughly ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per person in cash for a three-night stay, more if you plan to pay for scuba diving or water sports directly. Withdraw it in Port Blair before you board the ferry — ATMs there are far more reliable.Havelock Island Packing Checklist
For the island-wide version of this list, see our Andaman packing list. Documents – Original photo ID for every traveller — Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or driving licence (PAN card is not accepted at the jetty) – Printed or downloaded ferry tickets and hotel confirmations – ID copies for children – Dive certification card, if you’re a certified diver Clothing – Light cotton clothes — it is humid all year – Two swimsuits (one is always still wet) – A quick-dry towel – A light cotton shirt or rash guard for snorkelling — it protects your back from sunburn – Flip flops plus one pair of closed shoes for the Elephant Beach trek – A light rain jacket if travelling between May and November Essentials – Reef-safe sunscreen, SPF 50 — the sun here is stronger than it feels – Hat and sunglasses – Mosquito repellent – Basic medicines, plus motion sickness tablets for the ferry – Power bank — power cuts happen – Dry bag or zip pouch for your phone on boat rides – Cash (see the section above) Leave behind – Single-use plastic. It is restricted across the islands and you’ll be asked to hand it over. – Alcohol — it cannot be carried on board the ferry. – Drones, unless you have written permission. They are not permitted at most locations.Where and What to Eat in Havelock
Food in Havelock is better than most people expect, but it runs on island time. Kitchens close early — plan dinner before 9:30 pm. Seafood is the obvious choice. Grilled fish, tandoori prawns, crab curry and the local red snapper are on almost every menu. Ask for the day’s catch rather than ordering from the printed menu. South Indian and Bengali food are widely available — the island’s population has strong roots in both, so a fish thali or a plate of idli is easy to find. Cafés near Govind Nagar market serve the traveller staples — filter coffee, breakfast plates, wood-fired pizza, pasta and fresh juice. Several have live music in the evenings during season. Beachside cafés near Vijaynagar Beach are good for a slow lunch between sightseeing. Vegetarian and Jain food is available but limited outside the main market area. Tell us in advance and we’ll pick a hotel with a kitchen that handles it properly. Drinking water — stick to sealed bottled water. Most hotels provide it. A practical note: food on Havelock costs more than in Port Blair because everything arrives by ship. Budget roughly ₹700 to ₹1,200 per person per day for lunch and dinner at mid-range places. What Our Travellers Say
“We booked a 5N/6D package with Havelock and Neil. Everything was ready — airport pickup, ferry tickets, hotel. The team called us every day to check. Radhanagar Beach at sunset was the highlight of our honeymoon.” — Honeymoon couple, Bengaluru “Travelled with two kids and my parents. They planned the days so we never had two ferries in one day. Kalapathar Beach was perfect for the children. Very patient team.” — Family of six, Chennai “I went for diving and stayed four nights in Havelock. They booked me with a proper licensed dive centre and got the slots I wanted. Straightforward pricing, no last-minute additions.” — Solo traveller, Pune “We compared four operators. AndamanTravelCare gave the clearest itinerary with actual hotel names instead of just ‘3-star hotel’. That’s why we booked.” — Group of eight, HyderabadAbout the Author

Frequently Asked Questions
Pricing
- How much does a Havelock Island tour package cost? A Havelock Island tour package costs between ₹12,990 and ₹45,000 per person. Most travellers spend ₹17,000 to ₹27,000 per person for a 3 to 5 night trip including hotels, ferry tickets, transfers and sightseeing. Airfare is separate.
- What is the cheapest Havelock Island package? Our budget Havelock package starts at ₹12,990 per person for 2 nights and 3 days. It includes a clean 3-star hotel, economy ferry tickets, transfers and sightseeing.
- Is airfare included in the package price? No. Package prices exclude flights to Port Blair. We can book your flights separately if you want, but most travellers find better fares booking directly.
- Do prices change by season? Yes. December 20 to January 5 is the most expensive window. October to March is high season. April to May offers the best value. June to September is cheapest.
- Is the price per person or for the whole group? All prices shown are per person on twin sharing. Per-person cost drops as group size increases.
Duration and Planning
- How many days are enough for Havelock Island? Two nights is the minimum. Three nights is comfortable. If you want scuba diving plus all three main beaches without rushing, book three nights in Havelock.
- Is one night in Havelock enough? No. Between the ferry crossing, check-in and check-out, one night gives you roughly half a usable day. This is the most common mistake we see.
- Should I add Neil Island to my Havelock package? Add Neil Island if you have six nights or more in the Andamans. With four or five nights, spend the extra night in Havelock instead.
- Can I do a Havelock-only trip without staying in Port Blair? Only if your flight lands in the morning and departs in the afternoon. Otherwise you’ll need at least one night in Port Blair on arrival or departure.
Ferry and Travel
- How do I reach Havelock Island? Fly to Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair, then take a ferry. The crossing takes 90 minutes on a fast private catamaran or up to 2.5 hours on the government ferry.
- Are ferry tickets included in the package? Yes. Return ferry tickets from Port Blair to Havelock and back are included in every package we sell.
- Which ferry is best for Port Blair to Havelock? Makruzz and Nautika are the fastest and most comfortable at 90 minutes. Green Ocean is the budget option. Take a morning sailing — the sea is calmer.
- How far in advance should I book the ferry? Two to three weeks minimum during peak season, and four to six weeks for the Christmas–New Year period. We book yours as soon as you confirm.
- What if my ferry gets cancelled? Cancellations happen mainly during monsoon. We rebook you on the next available sailing and adjust your hotel booking. This is exactly the situation where having a local operator matters.
- Is Havelock the same as Swaraj Dweep? Yes. Havelock Island was officially renamed Swaraj Dweep in December 2018. Both names are still used.
Activities
- Can I do scuba diving if I don’t know swimming? Yes. Beginner dives at Nemo Reef start with a shore entry in waist-deep water, and an instructor stays with you the whole time. See our scuba diving in Havelock guide. Many first-time divers cannot swim.
- How much does scuba diving cost in Havelock? A Discover Scuba session for beginners costs roughly ₹4,500 to ₹6,500 per person. A certified fun dive costs about ₹3,500 to ₹5,500.
- Is scuba diving included in the package? No, water activities are charged separately at actual cost. We book and coordinate them for you with licensed operators.
- When should I not schedule diving? Never on your departure day. Leave at least 18 to 24 hours between your last dive and your flight.
- What can children do in Havelock? Glass bottom boat rides, shallow snorkelling at Elephant Beach, and beach time at Kalapathar where the water is calm. Most water sports have a minimum age, usually eight to ten years.
Hotels and Customization
- Can I customize my Havelock Island tour package? Yes, completely. Change hotels, adjust the number of nights, add Neil Island, add activities, upgrade ferry class, add a candlelight dinner. There is no charge for revising your itinerary before booking.
- Will you tell me the actual hotel name before I pay? Yes. Every itinerary we send names the specific property. We don’t use “3-star hotel or similar”.
- Are there luxury resorts in Havelock? Yes, including five-star beachfront properties with private villas and spa facilities. These are included in our luxury package category.
General
- Is Havelock Island safe for solo female travellers? Yes. The island is small, and the tourist areas are safe and well-travelled. As anywhere, avoid isolated beaches after dark. Our team is reachable by phone throughout your stay.
- What is the best time to visit Havelock Island? October to May. Peak comfort and calm seas run from October to February, and March to May offers the same sea conditions at lower prices. Avoid June to September if your dates are fixed.
Practical Questions
- Does mobile network work in Havelock Island? Partially. BSNL and Airtel work in most tourist areas. Jio is patchy outside Govind Nagar. Data speeds are slow across the island, and there is usually no signal at Radhanagar or Kalapathar Beach.
- Are there ATMs in Havelock Island? Yes, a few near Govind Nagar market and the jetty, but they often run out of cash during peak season. Withdraw ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per person in Port Blair before boarding the ferry.
- Can I pay by card or UPI in Havelock? Larger resorts, some restaurants and established dive centres accept cards. Taxis, beach shacks, small cafés and most water sports counters are cash only. UPI works only where there is network.
- What food is available in Havelock Island? Fresh seafood, South Indian and Bengali food, and traveller cafés near Govind Nagar market serving continental options. Vegetarian food is available but limited outside the market area — tell us in advance and we will pick a suitable hotel.
- What should I pack for Havelock Island? Light cotton clothes, two swimsuits, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, mosquito repellent, motion sickness tablets, a power bank, closed shoes for the Elephant Beach trek, and cash. Leave single-use plastic and alcohol behind — both are restricted.

A heartfelt appreciation to the entire Andaman Tours & Travels team for executing this trip so beautifully and making it such a memorable experience for all of us. Traveling to an unknown destination always comes with its own challenges, schedules, and little surprises, but the way your team constantly kept a tab on us, coordinated every movement, checked on our comfort, and ensured things flowed smoothly truly deserves appreciation. Yes, there was a little initial chaos, but what matters most is how professionally and patiently it was handled thereafter. That speaks about the team’s commitment and sincerity. A special shoutout to the boys — Rahbar Ahmad, Faizan, and Arun — for being extremely supportive, approachable, and attentive throughout the journey. Their efforts, coordination, and care did not go unnoticed at all. Thank you once again for helping create beautiful memories in the magical Andamans. Wishing your team many more successful journeys ahead!. And we would definitely refer you and your team, and also would like to visit again.Posted on Google malay jagrathTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
